The Jatobazinho School, founded by the Association Acaia Pantanal in the Brazilian city of Corumba, just celebrated the Adventure Challenge Day, aimed to held a series of activities about planning, leadership and communication dynamics, among others. For this purpose, the School counted with the presence of former adventure racing athlete, organizer of the World Cup of Adventure held in Pantanal and outdoor educator, Shubi Guimarães.
In addition to this, the event was attended by Professor in Geography and coordinator of the Master in Border Studies of the Pantanal Campus, Beatriz Lima de Paula Silva. Both of them shared experiences and knowledge with the students about maps and mountains. Moreover, children were able to unleash their creativity in the school workshop modelling clay mountains and learnong how to recognize the relief on a map.
The Jatobazinho School, apart from offering its students a formal education, also gives them the opportunity to practice other socio-educational activities, as well as to receive social and health support. The school offers from Monday to Saturday through seven educators a program of comprehensive care for 60 children.
