Last August, more than 100 people participated in the latest “Connecting Smiles” conference for young people with cancer, organized by the Daniel Project Association of Costa Rica.

In this fourth conference, the Project will look at topics such as quality of life and physical condition, the importance of a good attitude, reproductive health or how to return to everyday life after cancer.

“This is one of the most important activities we carry out in the Daniel Project, as it allows us to offer a space to our brave young people battling cancer, so that they can become empowered through the development of matters related to their disease,” commented Ligia Bobadilla, Founder of the Daniel Project.

Talks were also directed to those who accompanied the young people at the conference, covering themes of positivism, resilience, the importance of good nutrition, pain management, loss and self-care.

“The “Connecting Smiles” conference is essential for young people to get together with others of similar ages and diagnoses and share experiences," added Bobadilla.
