The “NPH Leadership Institute” project is carried out by Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, an association which through its homes, provides a family, lodging, education, and medical attention to boys and girls in Latin America and the Caribbean. This project counts on the support of Fundacion MAPFRE, and offers the best students in the organization the chance to spend 10 months in Seattle, learning English and developing their leadership skills and potential.

The main objective of the program is to endow the most promising students of the NPH homes in Central America and Haiti with an education generating better opportunities. In Seattle they study English full-time and live with host families in order to experience total cultural immersion. The students attend leadership seminars, they meet mentors, visit companies and carry out community services, so that they are better prepared and can offer these skills to their own community once they return.

Founded in 1954, Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos provides a family to orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable boys and girls in situations of extreme poverty. More than 3,400 boys and girls live in NPH homes in nine Latin American and Caribbean countries.
