Fundación MAPFRE, receives an award from ‘Safe Kids’ for its contribution to accident prevention throughout the world
One of our main focuses of action is the reduction and prevention of accidents. It is precisely the work undertaken to prevent casualties at an international level that has led us to receiving the Safe Kids award in the category “Outstanding Global Network Member” through being a prominent member of the global network.
At Fundación Mapfre, we work to raise public awareness of the importance of preventing accidents by promoting and encouraging responsible driving habits and safe behavior that avoids or reduces accidents, especially those related to fires and road safety. The important work carried out in order to achieve ‘Goal Zero’, especially among children, was one of the main reasons for being recognized with this accolade.
The director of Accident Prevention and Road Safety, Jesús Monclús, was given the responsibility of receiving the award at the PrevCon Conference which Safe Kids organizes in Baltimore (USA) presented by Torine Creppy, acting President of the organization. “Making people aware of the need to act in a responsible manner, more so in the case of children, is essential for working on accident prevention and it is in the DNA of our organization”, said Monclús.
Safe Kids Worldwide is an international body whose main work is to protect children from unintentional injuries which are, in fact, the main cause of infant death in the United States. The organization placed value on the innovative nature of the program in the field of accident prevention, its capacity for forming alliances and the “extraordinary support” provided to Safe Kids Worldwide.
Reducing accidents is in our hands and is possible!
Between all of us we can keep working towards achieving ‘Goal Zero’. Join the challenge!
