Sé Solidario awards its Grants for Social Projects
Small social entities are often invisible to wider society. But they are certainly not invisible to the groups they support, to the people going through difficult times and who feel alone in their struggle, marginalized and sick. They are not invisible to us either.
Through our Sé Solidario (Be Charitable) program we seek to support all the selfless and generous initiatives aimed at, for example, improving the quality of life of children and teenagers with rare diseases, helping people with cancer, or providing psychosocial assistance to people with dementia, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, empowering women at risk of exclusion and equipping groups in need of basic necessities and even providing sneakers for children. Through all of these initiatives we are promoting opportunities for those who need it most.
Thanks to the 2019 call for grants, solidarity work will be able to reach various parts of Spain; 29 winning entities hailing from 14 autonomous regions: Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castile and Leon, Castilla La Mancha, Catalonia, Valencia, the Madrid region, Extremadura, Galicia, Navarre and the Basque Country.
The award ceremony which took place on Thursday 19 September brought together the social entities from 2019 with the winning organizations from last year and Fundación MAPFRE collaborators. Together they have become more visible and were able to share their hopes and experiences and highlight the importance of Fundación MAPFRE's volunteering work.
Together we can improve people's lives.
