The support of Fundación MAPFRE makes it possible for 200 patients from the Associação de Assistência à Criança Deficiente (AACD) to benefit from aquatic physiotherapy in the center which the association has in Mooca, in the east of São Paulo. The patients have physical disabilities, acquired and congenital, and come from families of limited financial resources who would not be able to afford the treatment otherwise.

The project is centered on obtaining resources to improve the level of care made possible by the aquatic physiotherapy which the AACD provides. The objective is to improve the personalized care for the physically disabled, who do exercises and receive massage sessions aimed at stimulating their acquisition of skills, according to the capacity of each one.

The Associação de Assistência à Criança Deficiente began in 1950 with the objective of offering help in the rehabilitation of people with physical disabilities. Over the years, it has reached milestones, among them the opening of the AACD hospital in São Paulo as well as 13 rehabilitation centers and six orthopedic medicine practices in all of Brazil.
