The Movimiento Pró-Criança (Pro-Child Movement) in collaboration with Fundación MAPFRE, is carrying out the “Promotion of Rights to Improve the Quality of Life of Children, Adolescents and Young Adults” project which guarantees a balanced diet and education in nutrition to 2,000 people.
Through this project, the Movimiento Pró-Criança works to prevent and correct dietary deficiencies of the children, adolescents and young people in situations of risk in the areas of Recife, Conejos and La Piedad, Brazil.
Its aim includes the establishment of daily diet directives, creating well-defined quality and quantity routines offered to the direct beneficiaries, providing the keenest awareness of the information available on health and nutrition.
Training and the raising of awareness are carried out with a range of activities including conferences, activities in class, conversation groups and healthy menu planning.
The Pro-Child Movement, with ties to the archdiocese of Olinda and Recife, was founded in 1933. Its main objective is to promote the citizens’ rights of children and young people in situations of risk or those who have been abandoned, as well as complement the offer of opportunities for their inclusion in society through education.
