Our work on preventing traffic accidents reaps its reward
This award was created in 1994 by the Comisariado Europeo del Automóvil and since 2009 it has been granted by the CEA's Foundation, each year recognizing the most relevant personalities, institutions and organizations in the field of road safety. Receiving it fills us with pride and motivates us to continue with our work on preventing traffic accidents.
At the awards ceremony, and after receiving the prize from the president of the CEA Foundation, Rafael Fernández-Chillón, the president of Fundación MAPFRE, Antonio Huertas Mejías, highlighted the shared convictions of the two organizations inasmuch as reducing traffic accidents is a basic and essential task. Also, that the objective of zero traffic accident victims can be achieved with everybody's help. He also stressed that Fundación MAPFRE would continue to fight and take on challenges in order to achieve this goal.
The reasons given by the Board of Trustees of the CEA Foundation for considering Fundación MAPFRE as worthy winners of such a prestigious award were as follows:
- Our commitment to road safety on an educational and informative level, with multiple actions undertaken aimed at children and adults alike.
- Our work on the prevention of accidents in the workplace.
We are grateful to the CEA Foundation for this recognition.
