The Social and Environmental Promotion Advanced Studies Center (CEAPS), promotes learning opportunities for life among children and adolescents from the riverside communities of the Amazon, through socio-educational campaigns and activities.
The “Popular education for the rights of children and adolescents from the Amazon” program, with the collaboration of Fundación MAPFRE, develops extra-curricular activities to arouse initiative among children and adolescents and mobilizes in defense of children’s rights.
The activities which CEAPS carries out include educational workshops, ongoing training and other activities related to health, citizenship, legal rights or abuse prevention.
CEAPS has been working since 1987 to achieve social inclusion of the new generations of the Amazon as the principal driving forces of the transformation of their future communities. The association seeks to achieve a comprehensive preparation through the sensitization of the youngsters’ families and their environment, the proper access of minors to public services, especially schools, and help in other areas such as health or home economy.
