The “Crianças e Adolescentes” project of the Liga Solidaria association, in collaboration with Fundación MAPFRE, provides educational and nutritional support to children and adolescents in situations of vulnerability living in the district of Raposo Tavares, in São Paulo.
The project benefits 500 children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 14, and works to offer them comprehensive education so that the children can become citizens conscious of their rights and their potential for change.
Numerous activities of a cultural and artistic or sporting nature are made available in the program, among them: debates, sports, reading, computer technology, robotics and music.
The “Crianças e Adolescentes” program is based on the 4 pillars of education proposed by UNESCO: learning to be, learning to know, learning to do and learning to live together. These four pillars uphold the pedagogical efforts, while enriching the subjective, emotional, cognitive and cultural skills on which these efforts are based.
The Liga Solidária, founded in 1923 as La Liga das Senhoras Católicas de São Paulo, is implementing nine education and citizenship programs in the city of São Paulo. This institution benefits nearly 10,000 people a year— children, adolescents and adults.
