Providence School” is the project that the Associação Filhas de Santa Maria da Providência is developing in the northern part of the city of Santa Maria in collaboration with Fundación MAPFRE. It is aimed at serving kindergarten children who are in a situation of social vulnerability, offering them an alternative in which they can access a standard school environment.

Currently, 270 children from the region benefit by attending the school that lends its name to the project. Here, they not only go to class on a daily basis, but they also have access to play and free time activities related to culture, art, sports, education in values and leadership as well as human, ethical and ecological principles.

The project also reaches out to the families of the children, who are encouraged to engage in the educational process in a practical and effective way to make this work , which is so essential for the children’s future, continue when they are at home.

The Asociación Filhas de Santa Maria da Providência is an association which, since 1962, has sought to offer an education based on ethical and humanitarian principles and to provide children a comprehensive education which allows them to develop all their potential.
